Automations and standing approvals

Have an agent do something on a schedule, when an email arrives or before an event.

An automation runs on its own: on a schedule, when an email arrives, before a calendar event, or when a web page changes.

Make one

Ask in a chat, for example "every weekday at 8, give me a summary of my day". Pufy shows the automation on a card: when it runs, what it does, and anything it may do without asking. Tap Approve.

Or make it yourself:

  1. Open the menu (top left), then tap the gear button at the bottom left to open Settings. Tap Agents settings.
  2. Tap Automations, then New automation.
  3. Fill in the title, the trigger (On a schedule, When an email arrives or Before a calendar event), when it repeats, the time, the prompt and the agent.

Email and calendar triggers need the Gmail or Google Calendar connector.

Manage them

  • Runs shows what ran and the result. Each run also happens in that agent's chat.
  • Run now runs it within a minute.
  • Pause or delete one, or use Pause all.
  • Make a webhook address lets another service start it.

Standing approvals

By default anything an automation wants to send, book or change waits as a card for you. A standing approval lets one exact action run without asking, fixed to who or where it goes.

  • Up to 3 per automation.
  • It runs at most once per run.
  • Never for money, browsing or other automations.
  • Everything else still waits for a card.

Good to know

  • Up to 10 automations. They use your time zone.
  • Webhook and event triggers run at most 24 times a day.
  • Automations are part of Pufy+ and need Making automations on (in What Pufy knows).
